When Australia’s Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, stood up in Parliament three months ago to face up to the shameful past policies towards Indigenous Australians and to offer a formal apology, John Bond knew more than most about the decade-long journey of campaigning it had taken to get there. Bond was a guest-speaker at the London centre of Initiatives of Change on 13 May.
A diverse group of 17 young people from eight countries completed the Life Matters course, 15-24 February, at Armagh, the IofC centre in Melbourne, Australia.
Against the backdrop of the economic crisis in Greece, Italy and other EU economies, the conference entitled ‘Trust and integrity in the global economy’, 17-23 July 2012, will explore ways to help create a just and equitable global economy.
